About the Collection
Home to over 120 works of art including, sculpture, painting, photography, mixed media and graphics, the Washington Convention Center Authority is the proud owner of the largest public art collection in Washington, D.C. With help from the National Gallery of Art, Smithsonian American Art Museum, Corcoran Gallery of Art, Federal Commission of Fine Arts and DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities the Convention Center developed a lavish collection valued at over $4 million. The collection, which primarily focuses on works from local artists, is a unique feature not found in most convention centers.

The DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities (DCCAH) and the Walter E. Convention Center partner to host Arts on N, a two-week arts festival featuring indie talents of the handmade expression. This initiative provides free spaces for district artists and organizations to sell their handmade goods and bring exposure to their artwork. The diverse mediums represented range from paper goods, photography, graffiti to chic and cool tees.
